Base

The market doesn’t seem to accept OP is Base’s token. When Jesse was on Bloomberg recently, even Mike Novogratz asked multiple times when Base will launch a token.

Are people just cynical about the relationship between Base <> Optimism? 

What am I missing?

Most people I know think that Base will launch their token in 2-3 yrs. Wdyt?

Same, would love them to stay in the OP family.

The more tokens we introduce the more fragmented our ux becomes, imo. I also think Base has done an incredible job at incentivising and supporting builders without dangling a potential airdrop ( & obvi OP has also helped them with this retroPGF etc). I would prefer to see more cohesiveness in the OP ecosystem

I understand the other POV, though. If Base grows much more than other OP Stack chains, they might decide to skip the "Superchain fee" and issue a token adding a few billions to Coinbase's balance sheet.

I think the more other OP Stack L2s grow, the better as Base would be incentivized to stay in the ecosystem.
