had the same problems for almost all my adult life. don't have them now. what helped: fixing my septum, building a habit of nose breathing, magnesium + ashwaganda before sleep. now 95% of nights i sleep for 7-8 hours straight vs. 3-5% before.

I’ve tried magnesium but never ashwaganda. Did you notice any particular influence from it?
