What I want to believe: web3 enables alignment between social app devs and users, so that the UX can be optimized for wellness rather than addiction. 

What I suspect: in the presence of apps designed with addiction in mind, wellness oriented designs will be outcompeted.

I think most people will keep using addiction-inducing apps. But at least people will have a choice and those who prefer wellness-centric apps will be able to use them w/o compromising on the social graph.

Kind of like with food - most people eat garbage but at lest you have restaurants where you can eat healthy food.
