Tipping is so confusing these days in the states. A suggested 20% for everything you buy off of a POS system service related seems to be the right thing to do, but how does everyone feel about it. Personally I think service from a quality standpoint is at an all time low. Curious to see what you all think.

it's just tragedy of the commons. can't price tipping into wages (though employers try to get that FICA tip credit), can't raise prices or lower portion control w/o consumer noticing, and the quality is such at the low end b/c tips are pegged to prices. imho POS shouldn't have tips before service so this can correct.
