am I the only person not having a difficult time using these new buttons? the virtual keyboard has been way worse all this time.

Yeah, to be sure they're totally are usable - but it's a meme worth piling in on, cause I reckon there's is also a "there" there. Plenty of space to use in the layout, so (in the name of "Fitts Law") I reckon it's worth using it to give 'em some more breathing room. Here's what I'd do(ish)*:
