This is very much like the South Park episode about the Royals. Screaming about wanting their privacy while doing a PR tour on all the talk shows.

I feel like either side is talking past each other. yes, if one feels spiteful, stylometry & voice recognition have been available for many years. otoh, are we trapped in a crab tank with each other? at some point committing to the cynical bit, applauding lapses of journalistic ethic, it's just going out w/ a whimper.

in other words, yes, bayes & beff are acknowledging that privacy was pretty much illusory to begin with. same with journalistic integrity that might have been around 4-5 decades ago. that culture, along w/ its aspirations, is gone. so do we just give up?

I have no alignment with the journo or whatever theyβre peddling but I also have no alignment for privacy for someone who made this into some big public event. Iβd never heard much about the dude until this moment and a lot of that rests on his reaction to this moment.
