Can we please not do the "beloved dead person would have shared my political views" thing?

you're free to refuse to do so. I'm speaking for myself.

that is my own, free opinion over what I admired about Aaron Swartz progressivism, and he wasn't a passive bystander for paywallers to meddle in policy to capture more for their bottom line. but I totally accept anyone disagreeing with me on that point, as you have. and likewise, I understand the fallacy, but I'm also angry about what happened to Aaron Swartz, and will continue to advocate for him as long as *I live*.

I share your feelings about him. I just don't understand how you're mapping that onto how you think he would vote in this election.

because I was as progressive as him & as affine to the Democrat Party to that end. but now I'm mad as hell, and not going to take it (the motte-and-bailey or the bootleggers) anymore.

I don’t understand how you think Trump or any of the sycophants he would host in his administration would be progressive to ANY degree or definition of the term, my brother in Christ, what an absolute aberration of a delusion.

nope, I don't expect such things. I expect change. and how is the Democrat Party supposed to remain as a zombified consolation, if we do not have the recourse to serve it well-deserved medicine? I've been in crypto because it is Plan B. no, I'm not going to forgo the holistic challenge for the singular morality vs morality "motte". there are many issues on the ballot, especially economic, and we happen to be in the rare cohort that even has the grace to comprehend it. listening to Kamala's filibustering is exhausting & demoralizing, in the context of Gensler's SEC (and I was optimistic about that until it proved to be false). idk dude, this is FUBAR to me. the solution's not going to look pretty.

I don't get how you get from being mad at the current system to thinking Trump would make it better in any way. Even if it's a nihilistic "burn it all down" feeling, he won't even help with that. He would just put in place a more corrupt self serving version of the current system. In any case, Aaron Swartz is dead, and we have no idea what is politics would now be if he were still alive. I think using his memory to try to support your own politics is disrespectful.

The solution will not be found in the biggest pathological liar of all of human history my dude. I understand your reflex, I have the knee jerk reflex to kick the democrat party’s ass myself but this just ain’t it chief.
