By which decade will there be a billionaire VR athlete? I'm amazed there is a PGA VR Fedex Playoffs for Golf VR going on! 1) 2020s 2) 2030s 3) 2040s 4) Never https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4juYjWwtohg

The VR companies will be worth billions for sure, but I don't see what stops someone from becoming the Tiger Woods/Michael Jordan of VR

if it's egaming, why not just default to the best artificial athlete? for performance, I suspect that a team & a datacenter behind the personality is going to be worth billions. we have TikTok NPCs, younger generations don't care about authentic performance, imho. might as well clone likeness of GOATs like those two.

I think VR athletics are interesting here because you can translate the skills to the real world - aka there is a pipeline from VR Golf/Racing to the real world equivalent. I'm sure the youth will still follow real world sports :) https://www.eurogamer.net/sim-racer-makes-the-leap-from-virtual-f1-to-the-real-f2
