I’m thrilled that Sal Nunkachov, founder of Paper View Independent Publishing, selected my work for his beautiful collection of concrete and visual poetry. The poems were created using processing/JavaScript, where I explored the intersection of generative art and poetry, blending structured algorithms with the organic unpredictability of concrete poetry. While traditional concrete poetry thrives on serendipity and randomness, often deconstructing language without adhering to defined rules, algorithms typically operate within strict frameworks. By introducing the element of "RANDOM" into the code, I gave the machine a playful freedom. This tension between control and chance resulted in a series of generative poems, all based on the phrase “a flying fuck,” inviting a dialogue between precision and spontaneity. The booklet is now on its way to the Small Publishers’ Fair in London. Explore the full collection here: https://paperviewbooks.pt/books/a-flying-fuck/ /visual-poetry /typography
