Finished Lolita this week. What other fiction must-reads do people recommend? Also reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy at the moment.

I didn’t realize it was such a quick read, but I also don’t think I could take it if it were any longer. Brutal book.

Oh man. As a parent, The Road was so bleak and painful. Read it in one sitting but felt punched in the gut for a month.

Loved it. Hard to read at times for obvious reasons. HH’s stream of conscious lost me at times. But it was funny, dark, and vivid. I’ll definitely re read it.

If you like Cormac McCarthy then Blood Meridian is essential.
