My best ever finish after 15 straight years doing this, taking the crown in our first Farcaster Fantasy League. Thank you to Salah and Saliba who I both had in from GW1, and the irrepressible Cole Palmer who came in in GW16 with nearly 200 points still ahead of him. Til next year!

pretty remarkable stat, and one that lots of people still overlook when considering either TAA’s individual defending experiences, or Liverpool’s defence at any given moment. These are comfortably the most prolific full backs ever in the EPL, and that will have an impact on the defence

i was thinking today about the 115 pending charges against Man City for financial shenanigans from 09-18, and realised if they get their titles stripped and they get re-awarded to second place, then it kind of changes how we think about the tenures of Rodgers (Liverpool) and Mourinho (Man U).

i usually exclusively read literary fiction, but a good mate is making me read this. about 10% through and the prose is pretty ugly (translation caveat) but it’s been interesting enough so far.

Aussies are freaking out right now (+ AOC tweeted about it) because a rich property developer said (admittedly crudely) that unemployment still needs to rise, and it's really brought to mind that Henry Ford quote that if people actually understood the banking/monetary system then there'd be a revolution in the morning

Interesting debate starting about the Ballon d'Or (player of the season). Should Messi get it for the World Cup, or Mbappe for his WC efforts + a stronger Ligue Un showing, or Haaland for his superhuman PL + UCL showing? Personally I think I prefer Mbappe, but interested to hear people's thoughts (Counts last season)

one of the bigger issues with FFP is that it incentivises clubs to sell off their homegrown players because they count as pure profit. having a homegrown base is good and should not be disincentivised. a clear example of a rule brought in to address an issue that only creates another issue
