Maybe memecoins are not stupid.

But they are certainly a distraction for most founders. More casino than computer, so to speak. 

Distractions are more dangerous than purely stupid or evil things. 

You can spend a whole decade being distracted thinking you’re making progress.

I fail constantly but I try to:

- limit usage of certain apps (like this one)
- refrain from trading (did too much of that during the last 2 cycles)

But the main thing is to be working on something I know to be more important than the distractions. That pushes me back to focus when I start to stray away.

I think you need to add that only as a growth (and potentially alignment) strategy post PMF. 

If you add tokens before PMF you’re most likely adding noise and distractions.

Lots of people gnashing their teeth about "points to get PMF"... you may be able to get some (needed) attention by pushing that narrative, but my instinct is that you get low quality interactions and very few products can be positioned to take advantage of that.

I think there are multiple ways to get a sense of progress if you’re really executing a vision. 

If you’re working and not making progress in any direction, maybe you’re working on the wrong thing (or have the wrong approach)

The problem with staying focused tho is the danger feeling of being stuck and not growing. This causes some kind of burn out, while the distractions on the other hand can give some kind of fulfillment needed short term, till the real project makes sense.
