I was surprised at the lack of critical content around the obvious Muslim / Arabic origins of the Fremen in Dune

They're both in the movies and the books, but whereas the latter makes no excuse for using terms like hajj and jihad, the movies are oddly sterilised

I didn’t watched the movie or read the book but now I’m curious to understand better. But honestly I’m not surprised at all if this sterilization is not driven by an important storyline reason.
