I don’t know if this is a valid question
But how do you do this and still ensure you bring something unique to the table?
I’ve seen scenarios where users don’t even know what they want/ or think they know what they do but become open to new approaches

This is an undisputed truth. First, there’s nothing more you can do to be original, everything is already there, nobody is inventing anything anymore. Second, be good in your work, practice is everything you can do, copy everything, copy better, copy perfectly. Third, be yourself, if you know the rules you can brake them. Once you’re good and you are your very self, now maybe you’ll be original. 😉
