## why doesn’t farcaster have reply culture on twitter, popular accounts (@tszzl) come from responding/reacting to everyone on farcaster, popular accounts come from the founders choosing who would win, then those people choosing who would win roon used to engage so much i thought it was scripted. top accounts here engage so little you think they’re inactive. i certainly didn’t choose to see the home/trending feed for 3 years over following feed, but somehow now following is obviously more popular. farcaster deflects more blame than it accepts

i was by far the most vocal proponent of following > trending feeds and now look what’s more popular😇 do the hard work and get rewarded, run away and get nothing

i was definitely the most hated proponent of forcing people you pick and choose on top with the autofollow list is toxic

autofollow list was a losing battle no matter what we all knew it was problematic but the powers that be were using it to bootstrap the network in a way that created some of the exact negative externalities you have brought up does it still exist?

my argument was always the compounding effects-- farcaster stagnated growth since the last boom and despite saying followers don't matter, that's the #1 signal on every social media platform.
