The famous book "Blue Ocean Strategy" has a deeply valuable insight: the proper unit of analysis for outperformance isn't specific sectors or companies, it's the strategic move. There aren't any companies that outperform forever. I think this applies directly to individuals. I don't believe in the cult of personality.
