Transhumance in the Caucasus is a tradition that dates back millennia. I was lucky enough to witness one spontaneously on my first trip to Georgia.

All of a sudden, as I hiked towards Truso Valley, I was swarmed by hundreds of cows and sheep. Special experience

Connecting to this, for my upcoming trip to Georgia I’m planning to depict more transhumance.

In June, people from the lowlands start to move back to the mountain region of Tusheti to enjoy the summer there.

I’ll spend plenty of time in the region, and I hope I can befriend a few animals along the way 😁
