She asked us not to capture her face, a common occurrence in Muslim countries, but she was open to pose for us like this. It totally made the scene for me. The land around looks so desolate, and it makes you wonder what the story of this girl is. Great memories

The girl with no face. On one of my first days in Mauritania, we stumbled upon this desolate scenery, only the fog as a constant. This girl was there with her donkeys and her family, walking towards a tiny village. Though she prohibited us to capture her face, she was open to pose for us in other ways

Connecting to this, for my upcoming trip to Georgia I’m planning to depict more transhumance. In June, people from the lowlands start to move back to the mountain region of Tusheti to enjoy the summer there. I’ll spend plenty of time in the region, and I hope I can befriend a few animals along the way 😁

Good Morning 🍵 Transhumance in the Caucasus is a tradition that dates back millennia. I was lucky enough to witness one spontaneously on my first trip to Georgia. All of a sudden, as I hiked towards Truso Valley, I was swarmed by hundreds of cows and sheep. Special experience

This day we had just gotten out of the Acacus Mountains, visiting an area known for some of the largest dunes in Libya. Those dunes are the one you can see in the background. Although huge, we weren’t able to locate some special ones, so we explored some of these smaller, more interesting ones. Light was perfect
