Ever heard of Phoenix' ? It's manga written by Osamu Tezuka that deeply impacted me as a child. The story revolves around a mythical bird whose blood grants immortality. Characters throughout history encounter the Phoenix, facing moral dilemmas and cruel fate as they grapple with the concept of eternal life. (I think this series is a little heavy for a 'kids' book, it is captivating. It leaves you wondering: Would you want to live forever?
