Electrical grids are decentralizing as renewable energy sources increase. It's funny to see that there are many parallels with blockchains and the issues they face: - Scalability: The grid, originally designed for large centralized utility companies, needs upgrading to accommodate numerous participants. - Sustainability: Just as Ethereum transitioned to a more energy-efficient Proof of Stake (POS) system, the grid must continue its shift toward cleaner energy sources. - Reliability: Preventing blackouts and potential cyber-attacks is crucial. - Consensus: Cooperation among all grid stakeholders is essential. I’m curious how the DePIN movement will influence future grid upgrades.

someone's been reading @packy's piece on Base Power hehe - one of my favorite pieces of content recently also been wondering a lot about how decentralised payment/data rails meet with decentralised energy grids still not 100% clear why they make sense together given strong dependency to local regulation (and thus difficulty to really decentralise)
