I respect your perspective on this Mac and I agree Putins goal is sphere of dominance, which Noah explained well

But I didn’t like this piece and thought Noah exhibited many misunderstandings, but nonetheless argued the correct point
His interview with Sarah Paine is also good

Worth caveating that I try to have really high standards for what I let into my inbox
This piece I felt was
- bad selective history/geography from someone that didn’t really understand the topic
- he merges many points, like Poland is doing lots to support Ukraine, Putins war is about dominating east europe

Overall, I think the truth is about dominating Eastern Europe, and so his focus on Poland is odd

One flag was talking about Latvia, Poland, Estonia, and completely forgetting Lithuania

Another was taking Putins Latvia claim at face value and assuming his Poland claim was false

If I wanted to argue Putin wanted Poland, I would mention Kaliningrad activities etc

If I wanted to argue Putin wanted Eastern Europe, I wouldn’t title my piece on Poland, and would mention Suwalki gap

Poland ofc is the pinnacle example of Soviet failure

I think it'd also be easier to conquer Baltic countries than starting with Poland.
