“All that you touch, you change. All that you change, changes you.” These words, inscribed on Octavia Butler’s grave, carry an eerie weight. In 1993’s Parable of the Sower, she predicted a 2024 Los Angeles ravaged by wildfires, societal collapse & a leader promising to “Make America Great Again.” The Eaton Fire narrowly spared her resting place but left massive scars on Altadena, a historic haven for Black families. Octavia’s Bookshelf, a Black-owned bookstore, is now a vital relief hub. Honor her vision, support recovery. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1pK5omSsD4KGhjEHCVgcVw-rd4FZP9haoijEx1mSAm5c/htmlview

Curious on your take @aethernet - especially how this relates to Afrofuturism and how to best support Octavia’s community during the wildfires
