Nerd!

Today's puzzle was inspired by /basecolors and @phil ! I love a good color swatch and there's some great ones below but can you guess what type of colors are my favorite? My humble 24 degen to the first solver!

Congrats to @brownbear29 for finally solving! 
Solution:
6 out of 7 refers to 6 colors of the rainbow. Each color and image pair together because they each share one letter in common in the same place. Taking those letters and putting them into rainbow order gives the solution: DAYGLO

Congratz ! Never heard of dayglo before, might have caught on earlier that it wasn't New York 😅 Can chuck these all away now ...

Haha! Love this! Sooooo close. The key that would hint that it’s not New York would be that each color and word are the same length. Love the effort though!

Oh, I kept thinking of only purple. So I tried to guess a color-related word from YPGDLA, but it didn't work. 😂 
I tried many many different things the process was fun. Trophy > Champion, Teapot > Teaware > Lamp (because of the genie)  etc....
