One of the challenging things about working in crypto is that the collective sentiment can often feel tied to the price of Bitcoin. That shouldn’t be the case though. Stablecoin usage is steadily moving up and to the right regardless of crypto prices. (hat tip Artemis.xyz)

Excellent piece on stablecoins solving real frictions in payments today. “....you're systematically not paying enough attention to the weak signals in this market because of personal biases, lack of usefulness in your context, or distaste for anything with a proximity to Crypto. That's a recipe for disruption.... Like everything in payments, it's slowly, then suddenly." This is because payments is a 2-sided market: payers and payees build on either side, one attracting the other in a feedback loop, until the speed at which each side is added moves so fast it hits escape velocity. I think the problem is your bank has no idea if the thing you bought is a coffee (one-time) or a monthly coffee club subscription. It has to get this data from the Merchant. It's a communication / data problem. Crypto 100% can solve this! But i think how isn't immediately clear: Crypto unlocks the ability to easily revoke your approval - you don't even need to officially cancel, you can just take away the ability to ever charge your wallet. But unless the item is publicly tagged on-chain, its still up to the purchaser to know what she bought (a wallet explorer can't easily show it to you). What you then need, and crypto is the perfect solution for, is a general purpose network that can store the tx context (i.e. this is a subscription), encrypt it for privacy & allow the user to control & forever access that data so it knows which authorization to revoke.

Been playing around with @bello . They have a super cool feature where you can see attributes about your users based on @poapxyz. ~20% of those paying with crypto via @loopcrypto have participated at a hackathon, a strong indication they are developers.

Integrating @loopcrypto was incredibly easy, took me ~1 hour with testing! Works out of the box with my stripe integration and soon people will be able to subscribe using crypto or credit card. Thanks @elenithinks for the guidance!

July was already my favorite month (mostly because it's my birthday month😀), but we now just had our best month yet at Loop. Icing on the cake. 😉 • Highest volume processed, growing ~21% from our previous best • Highest # active companies, growing 10% from last month’s high • Growing consistently 22% MoM, up ~300% just this year The team is also perfectly on schedule to push a very big new feature that I’m super excited about. My co-founder Shane has done an excellent job forecasting the build time and sticking to it. This should not be undercounted! It’s super difficult to do.
