I love this perspective, Hopi. It's art's ability to make you question whether something actually is "good" or "art" at all, and it is important to recognize when something speaks to you at a deeper level.

I think seriousness is as much an idea as anything else and depends on the art, the message and how the artist wants to be treated. And it can happen that some art becomes part of the culture as not serious. For example, there are a lot of beautiful works with Pepe the frog, they do have value and are done in an unusual style, but it's hardly really serious. In general, I think what is more important is not whether you take some art seriously or non-seriously, but whether any art at all is able to arouse feelings in you and make you react. But one can argue about this topic endlessly🙃
