I don't think any chain (L1 or L2) can claim to have "good UX" until transactions consistently cost <$0.01, confirm in 1 second or less, and rarely if ever fail. The chain also needs to be able to maintain all of this in periods of extreme demand. Lots more building left to do.

i think there shouldn't be any fees at all, and users can forget about gas..
