If you’ve ever wondered why DAOs don’t work, just look at the current state of the Democratic Party.

A huge portion of this is bots trading micro transactions. Metrics that are honest would be to show how many 1-10 mil mc meme coins have tens or hundreds of thousands of holders.

I’ve been seeing meme coins with hundreds of thousands of micro transactions to boost holder count. Not exaggerating.

Decentralizing social doesn’t magically eliminate the problems that have led to the attrition of web2 social

You are referring to crypto twitter (CT), there’s actually a much broader range of communities (politics, other tech spheres, organizations and institutions, education, etc) but the algo only feeds what you seek or engage. Much of all that is missing here.

I mean it’s okay to just call the fee the cost of minting, I don’t understand why this has been an ongoing conversation. It’s simple, “this mint costs $3” “ok here is my $3 for this $3 mint”

Hahaha yes welcome all, to decentralized onchain, where morality is socially implied, though protocols are relentlessly misused and abused, for selfish gain. My own hot take to add to yours, if the incentive is personal reward, it may not be as decentralized as we say it is, cuz it makes ‘me’ the central focus

They’re also sometimes a little obnoxious, like the engagement farm ones, which might be the most common?

Frames are kinda gimmicky to me. So far they don’t contribute anything major to the platform. Sometimes a frame is used to show good information, but isn’t necessarily better than a screenshot, or a link to the article where I don’t have to keep clicking a ‘next’ button. I also like going to zora for a mint.

I took many different psychedelics for many years, some were very exotic and hard to come by, even in that culture, and I had all the usual opinions about how much good I believed they were doing for me, butone thing is for sure the truth, my life in every area improved tremendously when I stopped. They were a crutch.
