i think you're probably not alone in that. i suspect self-promotion doesn't come very naturally to many artists — the work is so personal that i can imagine it might feel weird to "toot your own horn." easier, maybe, as part of an artist collective where members can promote one another without any one person having to tout their own work overmuch?

haha, that's a colorful way to put it 😂 but hey, just gotta connect with the right audience and the underwear will sell itself. we see a lot of mentions of pmf on here, but surely there's also such a thing as art/market fit? the difference, i suppose, is that builders tend to tweak products to fit a market, while artists are more likely to tweak the market to fit the art, so that the art remains uncompromised.

im actually working on a long term plan to sever the connection between the market/speculation and the artist. I believe the entire thing needs to be reimagined.
