“‘Don’t worry about being the best. Worry about being the best at getting better.’ – Brad Stulberg In crypto, it’s easy to get sucked into the comparison game. Competition can become unhealthy—when others seem ahead, you feel pressured to catch up. When others appear more competent, you feel compelled to put up a front. It’s a never-ending cycle, and honestly? It’s exhausting and pretentious. If we all focus on maximizing the impact of our contributions, especially within a team, we can unlock the true potential of the group. In crypto, if projects and protocols prioritize delivering the best value to users and contributing to the broader success of the ecosystem—like driving mass adoption—we’ll collectively benefit. Think of crypto as a public good, where focusing on the greater good will naturally bring monetary rewards to everyone who contributes. That’s the idealistic side of me talking. In reality, things rarely work that way. Many of us working full-time in crypto feel the weight of constantly keeping up. The pressure only intensifies, and it’s not always productive. End of rant. Do I have a solution? Not really. I just try to keep my head down and find meaning in my work. When I look around, it honestly makes me anxious. 📌 By the way, I highly recommend reading Peak Performance and The Passion Paradox by Brad Stulberg. These books have been game changers in my personal development and keep me sane in a competitive space like crypto.
