Of the 18 or so people at Merkle, I think I know where 3/18 went to college.

College is helpful for career if:

1. You major in something with hard skills
2. In the US, you got to a school that gives you an initial professional network

But after your first or second job, most places just care about what you've done at the previous job (or built on your own).

In the professional world, I have never asked someone where they went to college for 'evaluation' purposes.
