my body is so used to running that I start feeling better an hour before I usually run (~7pm) everyday, even on sick days I can be knocked out the entire day w/ a headache or muscle soreness, then feel good enough to run 13 miles by 6pm

One way to characterize an era, is to look at the extent to which ideas of "scientific rationality" and "freedom" are pulling in the same direction, vs in opposite directions.
