Sick. My only food for thought is the num of parallel trials that can be run is limited by the number of minds/intelligences working on the problem not necessarily the number of of circulating ideas in the assembly pool. These two numbers will often correlate but aren’t the same. So may have to introduce variable representing number of intelligences working on the project and could possibly make A a function of this number and time. Let me know if this makes sense or if I’m missing something.

lol I’m gen Z my high school is prob the only one that used it. We had a “[school name] tea” anonymously run account where they would post anonymous submissions, mostly degen gossip and pranks. E.g. “After a couple drinks at a party, [X] got busy with my friend’s dog” That’s a real post

Reminds me of the lack of a unification between relativity and quantum mechanics. Meta ideological coherence requires intuition and I would argue at least some faith. We have been taught to be skeptical and adhere in our beliefs to Karl Popper’s scientific falsifiability. Meta ideologies are often not directly easily falsifiable so they deviate from this holy prop. Skepticism is healthy but does not leave room for faith and intuition. This skepticism is not a new development but one which has been brewing since the enlightenment. Maybe it has become more widespread in the past 10 years as skepticism has become a more helpful tool when confronted with non trustworthy media institutions.

Agreed. A singular idea is non-scarce. There is no limit on its creation and spread so as many people can have it without taking it away from others. So it’s silly for the state to protect them. It is apt to say the relationship with an idea will be like one of a parent given a lack of state mandated idea control. Those with ideas will opt to protect them using means like cybersecurity as they nurture and develop them but ultimately that cannot control what happens when the idea is let out to the world. Does intellectual parenthood also imply a cultural shift?

If E (time for intellectual evolution) = T (time to test) A (size of assembly pool)! Wouldn’t a larger assembly pool increase time for intellectual evolution? You seem to be arguing that a larger assembly pool is good which I agree with but the equation doesn’t reflect that. It seems to be a little more complex. Maybe evolution of ideas does not have to occur after exploring every permutation of idea combination but can occur at any step in process and is more likely to occur if assembly pool is larger in scope and scale. So eqn looks more like: E=T/P(A) Where P(A) is the probability of finding coming up with beneficial idea and increases with A. Could be something like log(A). So E=T/(log(A)) Less elegant but lmk what you think.

Totally. I’d probably start with physics just bc that’s what I know and IMO CS online learning market is over saturated and hard to compete.

My plan for now is to try and make at least beginning of user experience without the need to onboard funds. The product is an education marketplace for online and in person educational content so I can encourage free content for this purpose. And also over time to build liquidity for ease of onboarding. I mean the key here is building community. So ease of creating free accessible content is important. Maybe I can do a FC frame to create and interact with free content? Is this a good idea? What else can I do for user acquisition?

What I came up with was to start building on cosmos. J a more adaptable and familiar for me. My thought process was something like I just have to start taking the first steps and the path will continue to reveal itself from there.

I read Joan Didion’s essay Holy Water. It was short and sweet, displaying her reverence for the control of water and implicitly contrasting Californian bureaucratic control of water with divine control. Hard to characterize in a cast. https://web.archive.org/web/20150313220244/https://www.pbs.org/pov/thirst/special_holywater.php

Youth culture has shifted country in the last 5 years. 5 years ago kids were waiting line for Jordans. Now they go thrifting. In the past 5 years we’ve seen the rise of musical artists like Morgan Wallen and Noah Kahan. My feeling is the former appeals to the right and the latter to the left. I feel like this shift will have political ramifications too but idk. Maybe I’m projecting. Anyone else see this?

This isnt a commentary on the outcome. I’m honestly fairly indifferent but curious to see who the nominee will be. I’m just trying to point out how this has been a clear demonstration of the power of voice. And free voices are better than one resounding bellow.

Biden’s dropout is illustrative of the soft power of voice in this country. There was no straightforward process toward administering this choice. Biden himself was the only one wielding hard power over the decision. However, it is obvious that “soft” power was exercised NYT, MSNBC, many politicians, and twitter accounts who called for his step down. Pelosi, Obama, and the others prized as dominant singular voices of the Democrat party wield a significant portion (if not most) of their power through their words and stated alliances. Left wing media outlets can even wield significant sway by invoking these individuals names and claiming insight into their “real” opinions. We are walking a thin gray line between democracy and theocracy. Democracy is a moot point if media gatekept in the hands of the few.
