Palm trees are not trees, they are grasses!

Despite their appearance, most palms are botanically closer to grasses than trees. 
They don't have the classic woody bark or trunk rings like oak or pine trees. That's why they grow in a completely different way and can reach 
 heights without the usual woody structure!
