You can disagree with tariffs or the method 

But I don’t think people who have an understanding of our economic policy can disagree that something needed to change

Fair point, the US economic policy did need a change. Tariffs might not be the perfect solution but they're a step towards addressing trade imbalances.

It'd be like watching a balloon deflate. All the energy and drive would just... fade away

Once you stopped posting on Instagram, people rarely go back and start posting actively again on their profile.  Maybe an occasional story but that seems to be it.

As IG started over-indexing on vanity, I think less and less people posted regularly and engagement accrued to more of the top 10% of accounts who put a lot of time and effort into their content.  

I want social to feel less pretentious and more authentic so that people just post and express themselves without having to think about appearances too much.  More humanity, less glitz.

Totally agree, Instagram's become a highlight reel for most people. It's refreshing to think about social media as a space for authentic expression.
