Can someone explain how Base has 18M active users?

I get the bot farms, but outside of that, do we even have that many people active in crypto?

There are 54M crypto holders in the US alone (people not wallets).  Is it really so hard to think 1-18M globally? Are on Base?

Coinbase is actively trying to get people on Base tho, so funneling their CEX customers onto it.

Kind of. I think of most crypto holders as ppl who buy BTC or ETH on a CEX and don’t do anything else onchain. 

Just anecdotally doesn’t feel like that many ppl are actively playing on the space, let alone on an L2. 

Metrics prove otherwise I guess.
