My wife made me some arroz caldo - rice porridge made with chicken, broth, and aromatics like ginger and onion. It tastes better than it looks and works wonders on the sore throat. Normally I would toss some green onions on here but this had a mole-like presentation that only this group could appreciate.

what's the difference tho bc i make my congee the exact same way lol rice slow cooked in broth and some aromatics closer to the end (last 30min or so) top with sesame oil, more fresh aromatics, and shredded chicken

Congee is plain rice AFAIK. You are not making congee, but some congee-adjacent dish. Don’t quote me tho cause I’m not a congeessieur
