Farcaster

This is a really good overview of ATProtocol, Nostr and how we got here.

Reading this confirms my bullishness on Farcaster even more. I did my own analysis a couple of years ago even though the hub idea hadn’t been fleshed out yet. Tying in with EVM accounts and using smart contracts as registry is what sold me on FC. Aside from the app first design approach.

The article doesn’t mention composability since that’s not much of a thing on other protocols (except for Lightning integration on Nostr). This sets Farcaster apart.

Bluesky and now Nostr get a lot of attention because of Jack Dorsey and the loud bitcoiners.

Farcaster will succeed if it becomes the social substrate of the programmable blockchain space.
