Basically the benefit doesn’t justify the implementation cost.  What say you /dev ?

It takes <2 hours to implement email on-boarding so it is relatively harder.

i implemented onchain passkey onboarding in two weeks it’s not that hard lol.

Known for the everywhere.computer (/ec), /unglish (unglish.co.uk), the /secure-design WG, WalletUncon, Causal Islands + drumming in all-genre power trios.

Does using a PW manager like 1pass/VaultWarden solve cross platform?

It doesn’t really help my family though, who I have not been able to get on to a proper password manager.

The complaint about cross ecosystem portability is completely valid and needs to be addressed.

I think there’s standards formation occurring in this direction.

I don’t think there’s QR code flow is as alien to people as he thinks, and is way more teachable than using a password manager correctly.

I actually haven’t set up any passkeys with my BitWarden setup…I’m using VaultWarden tho so I likely have to upgrade

I guess I should try a PW manager flow before I pronounce judgement.  So far the iOS flow leaves a bit to be desired for me tho, even switching from iOS/Mac.

I completely agree with him. The only way the experience is decent is to store passkeys in your password manager, so you need the exact same tooling required for secure passwords.
