Of the 18 or so people at Merkle, I think I know where 3/18 went to college.

College is helpful for career if:

1. You major in something with hard skills
2. In the US, you got to a school that gives you an initial professional network

But after your first or second job, most places just care about what you've done at the previous job (or built on your own).

Red flag to me if someone is constantly bringing up where they went to school (unless maybe a recent grad or Waterloo :P)

I'm usually not one for university signaling but I feel like everyone I've met in crypto from University of Waterloo has been both incredibly smart but also nice so they must be doing something right
