It’s important to remember that only one country (the US) has ever used nuclear weapons, and it was on mostly civilian populations, in a country already prepared to surrender, near the end of a war, out of a want to exert dominance and a sheer callousness for human life. 

And Trump makes that kind of geopolitics look cordial.

As Canadians we must take even bolder measures: A demonstration nuclear first-strike against a major American city to show deterrence, and prove that we mean business. Then, peace talks.

You joke but that’s exactly Trump’s art of the deal.
