My problem with job seeking is that most of the jobs I want are seeking the best of x. Meanwhile I am like the Notion of teammates - 3rd or 4th best at everything.

You might try focusing on smaller companies that need someone to wear multiple "hats". If you're applying to a Fortune 500 company, they'll expect you to do one job and be really good at it. If you're applying to a startup, they'll need you to do five different things and be at least ok at all of them.

The best of x probably think theyโ€™re 4-6th best and donโ€™t apply. Reject imposter syndrome, embrace brilliant con man syndrome.

thereโ€™s a variation of the jack of all trades quote that goes like: jack of all trades, master of none, but oftentimes better than master of one as a fellow generalist, it has been my motto since i found it :)
