brian is live on unlonely
@briang
anyone who suggests we token-gate fundamentally doesn't understand live-streaming and how difficult it is to get people to show up at a specific time. adding additional constraints to entry is mid IQ. unlonely is about creating new novel experiences that anyone can enjoy. end of story.

Agree w/ @briang - we've seen token-gating chats in post.tech and friend.tech (and more) and such and it has limited utility even for such a low-effort thing like chatting. Streaming takes at least 10x the work of chatting, why are you going to kneecap your audience like this? Honestly feels a lil web2 =x

that's because post.tech and friend.tech and others are anchored around monetization, and not community / sense of belonging / social status. bad comparisons imo. you don't need to token-gate the entire stream if the stream is just "content", but offer the option to token-gate features

What features do you want token-gated for community on Unlonely? /gmfarcaster seems to be doing pretty well with subscribe on /fabric , stream on /unlonely. There is a token-gated VIP chat in Unlonely, but it's not super useful. Don't agree pt/ft don't apply - they are all about social status (I have access to x).

i think pt/ft are inherently different token-gated group chats than what @hypersub has curated because they were created with different intentions / motivations. see this: warpcast.com/yekim.eth/0x61b877e2 i want the token-gated VIP chat in Unlonely to allow the streamer to enter an NFT URL (club ted NFT) for access.
