RE: feed not being timely enough for current âengageable eventsâ like a conversation @christin : Sometimes I wonder if the data-driven way MM has been optimizing the feed locks into a âlocal maximumâ of product quality versus a global maximum which focuses on community/channels

If people cared enough, would use / build other clients focused on those experiences. Revealed preference is people want everything in the home feed.

Itâs hard to argue against what youâre saying. Itâs just also hard for me to reconcile feed metrics which tend to be short term (ie time in app) vs MM long-term stated strategy (channels/communities) Also I just realized that I posted this in completely the wrong place đ it was meant for /latenightcrew

Our goal is to build the primitive. Opportunity for others to build the cozier spaces.

I appreciate that clarification. Do you want these cozy spaces on FC (channels) or outside of FC (ie TG/Tavern)? Because the feed isnât timely enough for me to get new users into my non-FC cozy space, and channels arenât yet cozy enough for me. Put another way: if my cozy space takes people away from the feed, am I going to be fighting against your feed kpis?

We are only focused on DAU right now. So just getting you to open the app for a bit every day is a victory.
