after this experience, i reached out 1:1 to a mix of 30 non-crypto people — tech-forward engineers, founders, execs. 85% regarded crypto + blockchain as different. they value blockchain, not crypto. one even said, "when i hear crypto, i immediately think "scam". and people think memecoins will solve our PR issue?

okay so what’s the strategy? keep using crypto and associating with real use cases like stablecoins or polymarket or blackbird or TYB or farcaster until everybody realizes that’s crypto, too?

Agree with others - in the short term you could grab a few users by using different terminology, but in the long-term better not to talk about the tech at all but the benefit. Do you care if your FID is stored on Optimism or Base or even Solana? Or do you care that your identity and followers are portable and programmable? Do you care if Netflix uses AWS or GCP? The more mass market we go, the less people want to hear about the underlying technology.
