very interesting, my main issue so far with embedded wallets is that i'm worried about all the liquidity that it's spread around all my wallets. i'm sure at some point i'll need a way to recollect everything in one place

yeah but what about being able to re-collect everything at some point?

Yeah. I think @jpetrich made a good point in this regard though - some wallets should be kept separate. 

In other words, having wallets merged into a single one is critical for some usecases, especially when you have large sums of money in each, and not important for other usecases.
