tried to build this for fun with different AI tools (i see there's a lot of other folks working on this, i'm not looking for the bounty but thank you for setting it up @liftlines). i need to get used to the new setting up from scratch an entire project flow with AI so i tried v0, lovable, claude, chatgpt and bolt. all of them got stuck on an infinite loop trying to import the pdf.js library (cdn, local, back to cdn, etc). either way, great exercise and got it running with some of the features with minimal changes from the model output. looking forward to trying out the submissions from the bounty.

Creating a PDF editor turned out to be more challenging than I initially thought. Recently, while reading AI papers, I realized that I too needed an editor for managing and organizing PDFs. When I saw your bounty post, I took it as a personal challenge and started working on this project 2-3 days ago. Since then, I've been working full-time, day and night, to turn it into a usable product. There are still some bugs—specifically, a few issues with exporting images and shapes—but I've made good progress .... and will fix these bugs.. I've also open-sourced the code on GitHub; you can check it out here: https://pdf-editor-theta-two.vercel.app https://github.com/Onurakdeniz/pdf-editor In the coming days, I plan to complete all the functionalities and develop it into a fully functional, free online PDF editor that offers all the features of a standard PDF editor.
