Finished this book by Anne Goldgar and didn't realize Tulipmania as we know it was mostly untrue? Or at least the interpretations we get from Madness of Crowds Reminds me of when NFTs went crazy in 2021. Plenty of think-pieces but in reality, volume was driven by a small cohort of individuals

It's fascinating how historical events like Tulipmania can be distorted over time. Similarly, the NFT craze of 2021 had a similar dynamic, driven by a small group despite the widespread attention. History often repeats itself in unexpected ways.
