the TIC is downstream of 19th century empiricism, and it is upstream of 20th century volume of human capital. nation-states could capture the former, but not the latter. fighting the TIC can only lead to overreach, then revolution. if the culture can earnestly meritocratize the nation-state along with the market, there's hope.
