this girl at a festival asked me what i do and i named off everything i do, then RELUCTANTLY shared that i dabble in crypto she audibly gasped, and then the conversation morphed into passive judgement about me using crypto, and disbelief that i have actually made real money for my art in the crypto space

I interact with those a lot. The issue is noting crypto as anything more special than getting paid through your bank or debit card. Just ignore the financial plumbing because no one cares, which is why they haven’t made an attempt to understand and default to judgement

lmfao thats so funny. i just spent 2+ weeks trying to get my money from vanguard since the process had me mailing in shit and it was wrong so i had to mail in something again. This is not the wave. how are we still stuck pre internet with some of these processes that can be so much better!

the crypto stigma is so real. I have been berated at family gatherings by extended family for even considering it as a career almost as if they believe I am some sort of scammer that impersonates people on the phone

In my community, when someone I just met finds out I’m into crypto, especially trading, they suddenly get super interested and excited about me. :) I still haven’t figured out why!
