the answer is doge indiscriminately gutting every government agency unchecked

looked into a bit, seems like Trump’s executive order “Optimizing the Federal Workforce for Efficiency & Effectiveness” required federal agencies to make massive layoffs. Interior (national parks) & Agriculture were especially targeted because DOGE saw those agencies as bloated

DOGE is collecting, analyzing, and reporting out on data that others use to inform their decisions. 

i’m asking what data informed this decision, like what led to this decision or was it pre-DOGE because it seems understaffed whereas other govt agencies are definitely over staffed.
